Welcome to Bottoms Down, Chair Yoga for Everyone
Hello and welcome! We’re so glad you’re here. At Bottoms Down, our mission is to make yoga accessible for everyone—especially seniors and beginners who want to stay active, mobile, and confident without the pressure of traditional fitness programs.
Yoga isn’t about fancy poses or picture-perfect balance—it’s about movement, breath, and discovering what feels good in your body. That’s why we focus on chair yoga: a safe, supportive, and joyful way to practice yoga that meets you exactly where you are.
Or as we like to say: Yoga for real people, taught by real people.

Why We Do What We Do
At Bottoms Down, we believe movement is more than exercise—it’s a lifeline to independence, confidence, and joy. Every day, we hear from seniors who share how chair yoga has helped them walk with less pain, reach a little farther, or simply smile more often. Those stories inspire us to keep going.
We do this because we know wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all. Too many people feel left out of traditional fitness spaces, whether because of age, injury, or ability. Chair yoga changes that. It opens the door to safe, supportive, and empowering movement—proving that it’s never too late to start, and always possible to grow.
Who We Are
Bottoms Down was founded by two lifelong learners with a shared passion for wellness and community:
- Carol (Yogi) –
A certified yoga instructor with more than 20 years of experience and a heart for teaching seniors. Her calm, encouraging style makes every class feel approachable and supportive.
- Mickey (Nerdi) – A retired IT consultant turned storyteller and video producer. Mickey helps bring Bottoms Down to life online and nurtures our growing community.
