Hip Opener, Release Tension, Improve Hip Flexibility - More Seated, Some Standing. Seated and standing Pigeon pose helps to release tension and maintain hip flexibility because it stretches both the hip rotators and the hip flexors. Hip flexibility can relax the piriformis and psoas muscles. #WithMe This is a 30 minute video that focuses on stretching and opening the hips. We often experience tightness in the hips that is exacerbated from time seated at a desk in the office, or seated behind the wheel of our car, or just staying seated for too many hours in the day for whatever reason. This practice will help open the hips and provide some much needed stretching and relief from tight hip flexors (the muscles that run along the front thighs and pelvis) and the hip rotators (buttocks area). We’ll start with Pyramid pose working into Pigeon pose and Eagle pose, adding a deeper wide legged forward fold. Then we’ll move into these poses standing. You’ll only need a chair. We’ll start seated, move to standing and return to seated. Please subscribe to the Bottoms Down Chair Yoga Channel and never miss a video.
